The Royal Enfield Classic 500 EFI is a machine that creates a mix between modernity and tradition, which BAAK entirely re-designed to give it aesthetic and dynamic qualities that remind the glorious past of indo-britanic firm in trial racing.
The related video will be release by mid-November 2018.
Throughout this project, BAAK team aimed at building a 60’s trial machines replica while focusing on the reliability, the security and the finish level of the build. This project is a real return to the origins for the Classic 500, essential to make this motorcycle stand out from the mass and get re-designed in a classic way.

It’s all about a unique motorcycle with a strong personality, off road friendly and which enables his owner go on the trial spot by road. Our work made it 42,5Kg lighter than the original Classic 500 EFI, which is clearly one of the reasons of its radical dynamic features transformation. Like our other creations, this Royal Enfield is in line with the backdating trend: We aimed at giving a classic timeless look to this modern motorcycle, while keeping the comfortable features of a 21th century one (security, braking, reliability, handling...). A riding experience which feels different and which awakens the senses of the rider.
We bring a particular processing to the material we work on, which is caracteristic of the craftmanship aspect of our job. « We created this machine so it provides the purest riding feelings, in line with the tradition of classic trial motorcycles which please the rider’s senses once sat behind the handlebar, and with a really purified design ». Rémi REGUIN.
We bring a particular processing to the material we work on, which is caracteristic of the craftmanship aspect of our job. We bring a huge care to the sobriety, the classicism and the details of each of our creations. We respect a very careful design and manufacturing process, from the paper sketches to the 3D printing of the prototypes, the selection of the materials, the manufacturing, the finish and of course the test rides in real conditions.
For a project similar to this Royal Enfield Classic 500 Trial 1960 Ltd, it would require 4 - 5 months of work at our place, the final price depends on the finish level the custom wants.
To prove the achievement of this daring challenge, we collaborated with the movie director Aurelien BAUD once again to film this machine riding through the timeless scenery of an abandoned fort near from Lyon in France. This video will be revealed by mid-November 2018, featuring 2 other unique builds beside this Royal Enfield, in a common spirit : pleasures on two wheels. This machines makes things easy: wether you want to climb stairs or banks, turn in a small space or beat slopes, it won’t let you down. Rémi REGUIN, BAAK’s founder, has high-end trial riding skills he acquired through years. He knew how to mix the aesthetic aspect of the project with technical ones so the motorcycle can be used in real trial situations. Some of our choices had to go against the modernity, to make a better connexion between the man and the machine: The ABS system was removed, the electronic intake is replaced by a carburator, all the bike’s electricity was move to the side leather bag, handlebar controls include only the necessary stuff...
Founded in 2012 by Rémi REGUIN, BAAK is specialized in the design and manufacturing of bolt- on parts for neo-retro motorcycles. More than 350 parts can be manufactured by our team of 6 craftsmen, available for sale on our website and can be shipped worldwide : seats, mudguards, headlights, mirrors, exhaust systems, saddlebags, handlebars... BAAK also creates complete builds at his 350 square-meters workshop, based on Triumph, Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield and BMW NineT motorcycles. The design, the prototyping and the manufacturing is done in-house. Some of the steps of the manufacturing process are outsourced in the local area of Lyon (France) : laser-cutting, powder coat painting, tubes bending. BAAK parts sold online stand for almost 80% of the turnover of the company. About 65% of our parts are shipped out of France, and BAAK has already shipped parcels in more than 80countries worldwide.
In the coming months, our team will focus on some major projects: the transformation of two Royal Enfield models, the Interceptor 650 and the Himalayan 400, the move of the workshop to another larger place, the finalization of our automotive projects (Mini and Land Rover Defender) we started in 2016 and then stopped because of motorcycle projects overload. Finally two new models based on Triumph motorcycles (The Bonneville T120 and the Bobber) will be revealed by the beginning of 2019, exploring new creative paths rarely seen before in the custom culture
