Ahead of a fleet of Honda RVF750s and Yamaha YZF750, the ZXR-7 completed 207 laps to take Kawasaki's first ever victory in the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race. The riders were WorldSBK regulars Scott Russell and Aaron Slight. The Formula 1-spec ZXR-7 featured a large Ram Air intake on the left-side of the upper cowl, feeding cool air directly into the airbox. The highly distinct colouring came care of Itoham, the Japanese food manufacturer that sponsored the team. In celebration of the win, Kawasaki produced 300 special ZXR400 Itoham replica models for the Japanese market the following year. The photos here show the team's spare machine
