Buell XB9R Firebolt Ice Racer

From Hi Consumption.

It goes without saying that Sweden is a hardcore place — between the relentless elements, the freezing cold winters, and the rough-around-the-edges inhabitants, it’s perfectly logical to assume that the custom motorcycles being produced within the country stick to the same standard. The Buell XB9R Firebolt Ice Racer by the Swedish motorcycle builder NCCR is about as badass as you would assume — and it’s a testament to the tenacity of the country as a whole.

The XB9R is a collaboration between the team at NCCR, Buell Racing, ME Racing, and SSAB, a steelmaking company that provided the entire Backbone frame for the bike. The original fuel-in-frame concept was hardly touched — the team opted for twin tubular fuel cells and an integrated fuel pump to stay true to the bike’s classic design.

The tires are probably the most notable addition to the bike, sporting 25mm speedway ice spikes and a menacing silhouette that looks absolutely murderous. Two fuel cells were mounted to the custom steel frame and treated to an E85 mod that, in true Swedish fashion, allows the bike to ingest illegal alcohol to keep it running during those extra cold Scandinavian winter nights.
