PRO-TEC TT610 FACTORY RACER

This is NOT a replica. Frame/engine have NO NUMBERS. Built by Skip Clark, for son John Clark to race & test. Twin to bike that factory Yamaha rider Ricky Johnson raced & won the 4-Stroke Nationals on (see last photo). Bike was built in conjunction with Team Yamaha USA to explore and develop high performance add on items for possible production on later model TT's, along with accessory aftermarket items for Pro-Tec to sell over-the-counter.
NO TITLE--sold on Bill Of Sale only.
Ohlins shock, hand built aluminum airbox, ATK twin roller chain tensioner system, Ti exhaust with Super-Trapp, Ti bolts, Pro-Tec big bore kit, prototype works YZ fork internals.
1986 TT600 Factory PRO-TEC racer - I purchased this bike from John Clark who is ex-factory racer/employee/and son of Pro-Tec founder Skip Clark. This bike sports some extremely trick and one of a kind pieces. Built for competition and testing in '86 this bike has: one off 'works' aluminum airbox with twin K&N filters, works exhaust including large diameter TITANIUM twin header with SuperTrapp alum. silencer, Pro-Tec hi-performance cam & larger valves w/S&W springs, 610cc kit including Pro-Tec high compression piston (has manually operated decompression release instead of production automatic version), ATK style aluminum twin roller chain guide system (keeps contant tension on chain w/no lash), original LEATHER Pro-Tec seat cover in great shape. Lots of special Titanium & aluminum bolts were found during resto. Top secret Pro-Tec internal fork & shock mods were installed to produce improved race damping and longer suspension travel. This bike sits at least 2" taller than a stock TT. Has vintage Answer chromoly bars & new Renthal grips. Ohlins rear shock and KYB forks have been valved & sprung for PRO LEVEL motocross (very stiff). Includes an almost new vintage Metzler front, and brand new Dunlop rear knobby. Original owner I bought it from (John Clark) stated that this was the only bike that Pro-Tec built that year like this. Many of these parts were developed for testing and evaluation prior to production, and the airbox and header system were considered 'not-viable for production' due to their exorbitantly high costs to produce them. Bike has NO numbers anywhere on frame or motor. John stated that many of the internal bits were Yamaha 'works' pieces made out of billet aluminum and titanium. This is the twin brother to the bike Ricky Johnson raced on and won with during the 4-Stroke Nationals in the mid 80's. A truly awesome piece of motocross race history.
Only issues are: Huge compression--you'll need a BIG boot for starting this bike. Could use a new front brake lever too. Also, since bike was restored the new fork boots I installed and which are shown in photos, have split and will need to be replaced. I rode this bike briefly when it first arrived prior to resto, and it is a monster. Very stiff suspension and big horsepower. This could be trail ridden, but in all honesty please know that this is a high performance race bike.
