As the title suggests, the base of this bike is a 1978 Honda CB550K, but it has undergone quite the transformation. The bike has been fully customized to feature modern technology with vintage racing looks by Cafe Cycles of Rhode Island.
To start, the entire bike was disassembled and restored. The frame was modified to have a more aggressive, race-style suspension and a more forward leaning stance. The frame was then sand-blasted and given a fresh, gloss black powder coat.
The engine has been gone through and had all gaskets replaced, K&N pod filters installed, and carburetors fully restored. It has also received a new coat of high-temp engine case paint (in factory color) and all metal case covers have been polished back to new.
The electrical system is ENTIRELY new and features a simplified wiring harness and the points and condensers have been replaced with a state-of-the-art solid-state unit. This thing is now completely bulletproof. It DOES NOT have a start button - it is kick only, but starts on the first kick almost always.
The color of this thing is incredibly beautiful and dynamic. Varies from warm green tones to cool blue shades depending on the lighting. Just google "Ferrari Grigio Scuro."
