Harris F1 / XR 69

Have you ever thought about all the things we keep in the garage, to which we dedicate time and attention? Have you ever thought about what will happen to our beloved motorcycles after we are gone?
Have you wondered if others will appreciate our objects of desire as much as we did?

Perhaps Mrs. Anamaria Stanley's late husband never asked himself these questions, but now, knowing how much care he put into it, his wife wants someone else to enjoy this motorcycle and give it the value it deserves.

This motorcycle was built by Mrs. Anamaria Stanley's late husband, and she inherited it after his passing. Now, she is looking to sell it to help her son with his studies.

The motorcycle is inspired by endurance racing, which was very popular in the 70s and 80s, and it features a Harris Performance Products frame, a renowned British manufacturer of motorcycle parts.

The company was founded in 1972 by brothers Steve and Lester Harris, along with Steven Bayford, and is based in Hertford, England.

In 1972, they established Harris Performance in Hertford, England, which quickly became synonymous with Magnum frames in the 80s and 90s, with participations in the Superbike World Championship and MotoGP.

Harris made a name for itself building racing frames for private individuals and companies. It even built custom frames for riders like Barry Sheene, a two-time 500cc world champion in the 1970s. Harris also provided frames used by privateers (alongside ROC) in the 500cc World Championship in the early 90s.

Beyond this, Harris also assembled complete motorcycles and designed and sold racing accessories.

Before his passing, the husband had documented all the modifications and work done to this motorcycle:

*"I bought this Harris as an unfinished project. The bike was first registered in 2017 when it was completed.
The bike was manufactured in 2011.

Originally, it came with a CB900 engine that needed a rebore, upgraded to 985cc.

Parts fitted:

  • New bearings.
  • Engine freshly painted.
  • New heavy-duty starter clutch.
  • New CR carburetors.
  • Bandit forks with Öhlins internals.
  • Good tires.
  • New Dyna programmable ignition.
  • New battery.
  • New coils.
  • All new gauges.
  • AP brakes.
  • Harris swing arm.
  • Forged PVM wheels.
  • Harris foot pegs.
  • Spare engine (mostly complete), lots of useful parts.
  • Original Harris single seat.
  • All paperwork, including from Harris, the new registration, and receipts for parts."*

As mentioned at the beginning, the motorcycle is for sale.
