THE 2019 RIZOMA DESIGN CHALLENGE

CREATE THE FUTURE OF MOTORCYCLING #RIZOMACHALLENGE

Rizoma is looking for designers, engineers, and students to show us the future of motorcycling. Forward-thinking digital submissions will be collected through June 30th 2019 in two contest categories—motorcycle design and aftermarket product design. 

CLASSES
-MOTORCYCLE DESIGN-

Choose one product from the Rizoma Universal MIRRORS, GRIPS, or FLUID TANK Parts Catalog to use as a creative basis for the motorcycle of the future. The design should incorporate both material and design elements from the chosen ‘inspiration’ piece you choose. While not required to qualify, special consideration will be given for those that incorporate the inspiration component in the final design. Submissions will only be accepted as finalized digital CAD renderings and must follow the Rizoma Design Challenge Brief.

 -PRODUCT DESIGN- 

Create a digital rendering of the aftermarket part of the future. Designs may be new inventions, or a fresh take on standard parts (footpegs, mirrors, etc), but must follow the Rizoma Design Challenge Brief. Submissions will be accepted as CAD models, Illustrator/Photoshop drawings, and/or photographs of physical models (clay or 3D printed).  Designers may enter both motorcycle and product categories, but must do so through separate submissions.
JUDGING
Professional, hobbyist, or student; all entries will be accepted and judged by a combination of popular vote and selection by industry leaders. Finalists will be based on the technical, innovative, and artistic merits of each submission. 

 PRIZES
-MOTORCYCLE CLASS-

Judging will be weighted 50/50 between a panel of industry experts, and votes collected during the public voting period. The winner of the Custom Motorcycle Class will be receive a $5,000 voucher that can be redeemed for Rizoma parts, REV’IT! gear and NEXX helmets.
-PRODUCT CLASS-

Judging will be weighted 50/50 between a panel of industry experts, and votes collected during the public voting period. The winner of the Aftermarket Product Class will be receive a $5,000 voucher that can be redeemed for Rizoma parts, REV’IT! gear and NEXX helmets. 

-STUDENT SUBMISSIONS-

If you are a student enrolled in an accredited course of study, you may flag your submission as a “student” entry. Student entries will be eligible to win either of the above categories, or the option of a six month design internship at the Rizoma headquarters outside of Milan, Italy. 
-VOTERS-

One voter will be chosen at random to win a $500 product voucher that can be redeemed for their choice of Rizoma products, REV’IT! gear, and Nexx helmets.
